Inside the Submarine!

On the USS Silverside Submarine we went down the hatch and saw the torpedo room. Here is a picture of me at the controls for the submarine. Our troop was able to see everything and how long the torpedo tube was. Spending the night was the best!

My name is Luke and one thing I like about scouts is that we do cool stuff. One thing that’s cool is when we spent the night on a submarine. Resident camp was cool, also, because we went canoeing and row boating. We also swam in a lake.  We have a good time together, too. Bye!

I liked the USS Silversides sleepover!

My favorite event so far in Cub Scouts was the USS Silversides sleepover. My dad and I got there around 5:00. Man, it was a long ride, around 3 hours but it really felt like 9 hours. When we got there I saw that almost everybody in Webelos 1 had beaten us. We had pizza and we got a tour around the USS Silversides. We got to see real torpedoes!!! We had some s’mores and played on electronics. Finally we went to sleep.

Pack 760 represented at Pinewood Derby Council-Wide Finals!

On Saturday, May 16th, 2015, the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Council Finals were held at the Detroit Automotive Hall of Fame.  The races began at 9am, and ran until 12noon.  The boys ranged in rank from Tigers up through Webelos 2.  The top three council racers from each rank were then eligible to race in the Council Finals for overall fastest car, at around 3:00pm.

The overall finals turned out like this:  The third place winner was Louie Kleapado (Wolf rank), second place winner was Trevor Smegalski (Webelos 1) and first place winner was Connor Kirkwood (Webelos 1).  All three of the fastest cub scout cars were then placed in the museum lobby in a display case for one year, so that visitors to the museum could observe the boys’ speedy, colorful creations!

My two favorite things about scouting are shooting bows and riding horses. Some other fun things about scouting are hanging out with friends, shooting BB-Guns, and crafts. Cool things about scouts are playing games, and doing helpful things.

One of my favorite things about cub scouting is to go to camps. At camps I like to play human Foosball, shooting arrows during archery time, shooting BB guns, and doing crafts. When I went to one of the many scout day camps, I learned a fun song. It goes like this.

" I waaaana be a knight, knight, knight, and I will shooooow them all our might, might, might, and all the draaaaagons we will fight, fight, fight."
